About The Learning Collective ATX

The Learning Collective ATX is a strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming executive function coaching practice supporting neurodivergent students in grades 6–12, college students, and young adults.

We believe executive function doesn’t exist in isolation, and that effective coaching goes far beyond planners, homework, and productivity.

Our approach looks at the whole student and the ecosystem around them : how they learn, what they’re good at, what motivates them, how their nervous system responds to stress, and how relationships, emotions, expectations, and learning environments influence their ability to access executive function skills.

From there, we partner with students and families to build practical, personalized systems that support planning, organization, time management, task initiation, follow-through, emotional regulation, and self-advocacy, while building the confidence and independence students need to eventually use these skills on their own.

We’re looking for a coach who is curious, warm, collaborative, creative, and genuinely enjoys connecting with neurodivergent students . The right person sees strengths and possibility before deficits, understands that behavior and productivity are only part of the story, and is interested in continually learning and thinking differently about how we support developing brains.

About the Role

As an Executive Function Coach, you’ll serve as a mentor, guide, and collaborative thinking partner for students with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dysgraphia, anxiety, and twice-exceptional (2e) learning profiles.

Sessions combine relationship-building, curiosity, coaching, and practical skill development. You’ll help students understand their own learning patterns while developing individualized strategies for planning, organization, time management, task initiation, flexible thinking, emotional regulation, self-advocacy, and goal-directed persistence .

This might mean helping a student develop a system for tracking and submitting assignments, breaking down an overwhelming project, preparing for a test, noticing what happens when they shut down after school, advocating for what they need from a teacher, or experimenting with a new strategy when the old one isn’t working.

Our goal isn’t simply better grades or fewer missing assignments. We want students to leave coaching with a stronger understanding of who they are as learners, what helps their brains work best, and how to build environments and systems that work with their unique brain.

Ultimately, we’re helping students develop the self-awareness, agency, confidence, and executive function skills they can carry into school, college, work, and life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engaging one-on-one virtual executive function coaching sessions (45 minutes).
  • Build trusting relationships with students through a strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming coaching approach.
  • Help students build personalized systems to track assignments, record and submit homework, use calendars and planners, organize missing work, and follow through on school responsibilities, while strengthening executive function skills like planning, organization, time management, prioritization, and task completion.
  • Support students with challenges such as overwhelm, avoidance, perfectionism, anxiety, and school-related stress.
  • Help students set meaningful goals while building independence, confidence, and self-advocacy.
  • Use The Learning Collective’s coaching framework, tools, and resources to support each student’s individual needs.
  • Track student progress and maintain brief, accurate session notes.
  • Send a short parent summary after each session highlighting progress, strategies practiced, upcoming schoolwork, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other members of a student’s support team when appropriate.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Special Education, Counseling, Human Development, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching, tutoring, coaching, or otherwise supporting neurodivergent middle and/or high school students
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A warm, empathetic, curious, and collaborative approach to working with students and families.
  • Passion for neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based education.
  • Willingness to learn and implement The Learning Collective's coaching framework and approach.

Preferred

  • Master's degree in Education, Special Education, Counseling, School Psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting students with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dysgraphia, anxiety, or twice-exceptional (2e) learning profiles.
  • Familiarity with IEPs, 504 Plans, and school accommodations.
  • Certification or additional training in executive function coaching, ADHD coaching, Polyvagal Theory, 200–300 hour yoga teacher training, or Anti-Boring Learning Lab.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based executive function interventions.
  • Interest in nervous system regulation, cognitive diversity, and the relationship between regulation, connection, environment, and executive function.
